Variety* (asterisk) Denotes variety as open-pollinated, and in most cases a legitimate heirloom.

Growth habit: Det = Determinate (Grows to a certain height, then stops. Most of crop is borne within a 4 to 6 week period.) Ind = Indeterminate (Continues to grow and bear fruit all through the growing season. Perhaps not as many fruits on at one time as determinate types, but may produce more overall because of extended harvest season.)

 Money Maker*  77 Ind  One of the oldest known heirlooms, this one came originally from Bristol, England. Produces clusters of 2 1/2 bright red round fruits. Reliable.  1,13

 Moskvich*  60 Ind  Siberian slicer. Extra early deep red 4-6 oz fruits. The seeds for this tomato were smuggled out of Siberia in a personal letter in 1991.  4
 Mountain Delight VFF  70 Det  Good yields of bright red 3" inch fruits. Crack resistant.  1, 2, 18
 Mountain Fresh VFF  79 Det   Good flavor and large 3 1/2" fruits. Good market fruit.  1, 2
 Mountain Pride Hybrid VF  70 Det  This is the first in the Mountain series, developed for high altitude, Northern gardens, and market gardens. Large deep red globes, disease and crack resistant.  1, 2

 Oregon Pride  73 Det  Combines the qualities of a paste tomato and theflavor of a slicer. Large uniform roma- to heart-shaped fruits. Meaty and almost seedless.  8, 15
 Oregon Spring  58 Ind  This tomato is the "insurance for a home crop in case we have a cool summer." Developed in Oregon to set fruit in cool weather. Compact indeterminate vines.  1,2,3,4,6,8, 11,12,15,16, 19

 Extra-early small deep red fruits come in clusters of 8 to 12. Larger than cherries, 1 1/2" in diameter, and full flavored.  4
 
Russian Apple Tree*
 76    Unique apple-shaped leaves. Bred 30 years ago in southern Russia-tolerates temperature changes. Clusters of 2 1/2-2" fruits have a strong flavor.  10
 Rutgers  73 Det  This is a good old-fashioned round red slicer which doubles as a good canner. Not quite an heirloom but definitely an old standard!  1,2,7,8,12,

 Sasha's Altai*  59 Ind  Russian slicer. This is a best seller in Russia. Very early, juicy, slightly flattened, bright red fruits.  SSE
 Siberia*  55 Dwarf
Det
 The seeds for Siberia were smuggled out of the Soviet Union in 1975. The plants are small and very bushy, suitable for containers. Fruits are small and fresh/tart tasting.  1,2,13,20, 23
 Siletz  72 Det  Developed in Oregon. Deep red fruits frequently weigh in at 1# and are great tasting.  15
 Soldaki*  75 Ind  Heirloom variety originally from Poland. 1# fruits are flattened, with solid pink flesh and intense sweet flavor. Tall, vigorous potato leaved vines.  2, 10, 21

  Southern Night*  84 Det  Very rare dark black/red slicer. This proved to be a real taste treat in our 1994 trials. 8-9 oz fruit melt in your mouth.  1, 2, 10
 St. Pierre  80 Ind  
Popular French variety that originated in Italy. Bright red fruits have some green on their shoulders, good foliage cover. Will produce well in northern gardens.

 Stream  99 Det   New variety from the Moldova Institute of Vegetable Breeding. Fruits are 3 1/2-4 1/2 oz round, red and very smooth. Recommended for warm climates.  10,

 Suncoast VFF  72 Det  Needs staking but should not be pruned. Deep red 8 oz fruits.  2

 Yellow Giant Belgium (Goldie)*  90 Ind  150 year old heirloom. Vigorous vines produce large mild slightly flattened fruits. Low acid and tasty.  1, 2
 Yellow Perfection*  75 Ind   Small delicate lemon-yellow fruits. Tart and delicious variety is a typical English 4-bite tomato, just right for eating out of hand. Bears till frost.  11,20
 Yellow Wendy*  80 Ind  Zesty pale-to-bright golf ball sized fruits borne in clusters. Bears prolifically. From Australia.  13
 Zolotoi Char*  87 Ind  Russian slicer, collected by Ken Whealy, director of Seed Savers Exchange, at the Bird Market in Moscow, 1991. Round yellow-orange fruits with a rich, tangy, almost sour taste.   SSE (17)
